The full procedure is described in [the Used datapoints guide](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-schema-used/). ## Where can I find the list of datapoints used in my schema? Open **Schemas** in the header bar or in the **Menu**. On the schema row, choose **Actions → Edit schema**, wait for it to load, then click **Used** at the bottom right of the drawing. This panel belongs to the editor: viewing rights alone do not necessarily give access to editing. If **Edit schema** is missing, check [the role capabilities](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-role-capabilities/). ## How do I narrow the list to find a piece of data? In **Used datapoints**, type your own reference in the search field, for example **Hall** (fictitious example). You can also search for an address or a layer. The **Layers** and **Types** filters also limit the results: set them back to **All** to search the whole list. ## What do R and W next to the addresses mean? **R** refers to the status feedback address and **W** to the action address, when they are filled in. They help identify the datapoint, without indicating whether the device responds. Do not send a command just to check a row of this list. ## Two nodes in a single layer: should I delete a duplicate? Not necessarily. **Nodes** counts the drawing elements associated with the datapoint; **layers** counts their distinct layers. Two elements can intentionally use the same data. Expand the entry and click **Locate** on each row to identify them before considering a change. ## Why does the number change during a search? During a search, the panel counter shows the number of entries found and the total retained by the filters, in the form 3 / 14. With the panel closed, the button counts the entries after filters. An entry can group several elements: this number is neither the total of drawn objects nor that of all the datapoints of the installation. ## Why is the list still filtered after closing and reopening Used? Closing clears the search and collapses the entries, but keeps the filters; the **(filtered)** mention next to the counter shows it. Choose **All** in **Layers**, then do the same in **Types**. **Clear** in the search field does not remove these filters. ## Which layer does the Active filter target after a layer change? The one that was active at the moment of the click: **Active** keeps the current layer at that time. Check the name now shown in the filter, then click **Active** again to target the new layer, or **All** to search without this restriction. ## Why do other rows remain under the datapoint found? The search retains the whole datapoint entry as soon as it matches, even if only one element matches. Its expanded view can therefore show its other elements still included in the filters. Read the name, layer and type of each row before clicking **Locate**. ## Why does Configuration not open after Locate? When **Locate** opens another layer, wait for this layer to load, then click **Locate** a second time, on the same row. If the element is still not selected or if Configuration does not open, contact support with the schema, the layer, the element and these two attempts. Do not delete the element because of this difficulty alone. ## What if Configuration hides part of the list? First close **Configuration** with its **Close** cross at the top right, then continue in **Used datapoints**. Closing a panel does not delete any element from the drawing. ## Why are datapoints of a component card missing from the list? Used datapoints does not detail every datapoint contained in a component card and does not replace a check of all the bindings of the drawing. The absence of a piece of data from this list therefore tells you nothing about whether the device exists. For a broken binding, see the messages of the [Issues panel](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-schema-validation/). If you need to establish a binding or a complete list and the result remains uncertain, contact support, specifying the element and your goal. ## What if the list stays empty with no search or filter? Check the name of the open schema and wait for it to finish loading. If the element still cannot be found, note the message shown, **No result**, **No datapoint for these filters** or **No used datapoint**, and send it to support with your attempts. ## What if Used and Linked data do not show the same data? To find or change the data chosen on an Icon button, see [the Linked data guide](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-schema-binding/). If Used and this field show different indications after a change, contact support with the values observed and the attempts already made. ## Contact support If the problem persists after these checks, write to support@can-nx.com with: Boss’nX, the schema and layer, the element you are looking for, the exact symptom or message shown, and the searches, filters and attempts already made. A screenshot without sensitive data can help; do not send any secret.
