The full procedure is described in the [link configuration guide](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-schema-link-destination/). ## Where do I choose the page or drawing that my link should open? In **Configuration → Interaction → Destination**. Open **Schemas** in the header bar or in the **Menu**, then **Actions → Edit schema** on the desired row. Wait for loading, choose the layer that contains the Navigation link and select this link. Under Destination, choose **Layer** for the same schema or **Schema** to select a destination schema. ## Why does my link have no destination even though its Label is filled in? **Label** only defines the displayed text, for example View reception. In **Interaction → Destination**, select the Reception layer if it belongs to the same schema, or first choose the relevant schema, then its target layer. Save and try the link in view mode. Reception is a fictitious example here. ## Why does nothing open when I click the link in the editor? In the editor, a click is for selecting and configuring the link. Check its Destination, save, then open the schema in view mode through **Schemas**, in the header bar or the **Menu**, as described in [viewing schemas](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-schemas-consult/). Choose the layer that contains the link in the list, then click the link in the drawing. ## What is the difference between Layer and Schema in Destination? **Layer** offers the layers of the schema being edited. **Schema** lets you choose a schema, then optionally one of its layers. To reach a layer of another drawing, choose Schema, click its name in the results and fill in **Target layer (optional)**. ## Is a schema typed in the search selected? Not yet: click its name in the results. Check that it appears in the box with a small cross on the right. Then wait for the **Target layer (optional)** list and check its choice before saving. ## Does Default layer always open the first layer? Not necessarily: **Default layer** opens the default layer of the destination schema, which is not always the first one in the list. If the link must open a specific drawing, explicitly choose this layer in **Target layer (optional)**, then save and check the result in view mode. ## Why did my target layer disappear after I chose another schema? Choosing another schema resets this field to **Default layer**. Wait for its layers to load, then select again the one you want to target. Check the schema and the target layer together before saving. ## Does the cross next to the schema simply close the list? No: it removes the destination schema immediately, without confirmation. The link stays in the drawing, but it no longer has this destination. If this was not your intention, immediately use **Undo (Ctrl+Z)** if available, or choose the schema and its target layer again. Check the state before saving. ## How do I change the destination without changing the link’s appearance? Select the link, then change only **Configuration → Interaction → Destination**. Leave the Style settings and the Label as they are if you do not want to change them. Save, review the destination and try the link in view mode. ## Why does No destination configured remain displayed? The choice has not been made yet. For **Layer**, choose a value in **Select a layer...**. For **Schema**, click a search result: entering the name alone selects nothing. Wait for the message to update. If the choice remains impossible or the message persists, contact support with the schema, the link and the expected choice. ## What if the schema does not appear, even after clearing the search? Check the relevant supervision and wait for loading. A list without results is not enough to conclude that the schema has been deleted. If it is still missing, contact support with its name and the attempts made. ## What if the destination is still incorrect after saving, reopening and trying in view mode? Contact support with the schema and the layer that contain the link, its Label, the destination reviewed in Configuration and the drawing actually obtained. State that you have already saved, reopened and tried in view mode. Do not delete or recreate the schema for this issue alone. ## Will Save anyway make the link usable? No: **Save anyway** can save an incomplete drawing, but it does not choose a destination for you. Correct **Interaction → Destination**, save the desired state and check the link in view mode. To interpret the remaining errors, see [the validation messages](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-schema-validation/). ## Why don’t I see Edit schema, especially on a phone? The configuration procedure is described for a computer: resume on a computer if possible. Then check [the role capabilities](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-role-capabilities/) for View schemas and Edit schemas. Do not infer a missing license from this absence alone: if the menu is still missing, contact support with the supervision, your context and the missing menu. ## Contact support If the problem persists after these checks, write to support@can-nx.com with the product (Boss’nX), the supervision, the schema and the layer that contain the link, its Label, the expected destination and the one reviewed in Configuration, the drawing obtained, the message displayed and the attempts already made. A screenshot without sensitive data can help.
