# Scan a room’s QR code to open a Boss’nX guest access

Context: Boss’nX: guest access by QR code or guest link, on a phone or computer

A room’s QR code opens on your phone the site components that the manager has authorized for you, without a username or password. Depending on the QR code, a check of your position may be requested.

Intended for visitors and users to whom the manager has given QR access. Use the QR code or the full link provided for this access.

## Open the guest access

1. Scan the QR code available in the room with your phone, then open the suggested link. If the manager sent you the guest link directly, open it without changing it.
2. Wait for **Validating access**. If no position check is requested, the access may open directly.
3. If **Location verification required** appears, check that you are on the relevant site. Click **Allow location**, then accept the location request shown by your browser.
4. Wait for the validation.

## Check the result

On the resulting page, check the project name and the zone in the header before using the components. To change rooms or act on a component, follow [using the guest space](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-qr-guest-use/).

## Troubleshooting

### A location message appears after allowing access

Even after the browser permission, a message may report an imprecise position or an unauthorized location. See [guest access troubleshooting](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-qr-guest-help/), which details each message.

### Only the “Scan a room QR code” page appears

This page invites you to open the access specific to the room. Scan its QR code or reopen the full link provided by the manager. The page contains no code field to fill in; do not change the address at random. If it appears again, contact the manager.

### The QR code asks for a username and a password

This is how the QR code for [sharing the login page](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-share-login/) behaves: it opens the usual Boss’nX login and requires the credentials and rights of an account. A guest QR code gives access to the selection planned by the manager. Have the type of access provided confirmed before requesting the creation or modification of an account. Never give a password to support.

If access remains impossible, write to support@can-nx.com with the displayed message and the context, without attaching the QR code or the private link.
