--- title: Archive, restore or permanently delete a Boss’nX QR code description: Delete a Boss’nX guest access QR code to the archive, restore it if needed or erase it permanently, then check the result in the QR lists. canonical: https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-qr-archive/ language: en product: Boss’nX audience: - administrateur - installateur context: "Boss’nX supervision: Guest access and QR code archive, Manage topology right" --- # Archive, restore or permanently delete a Boss’nX QR code Context: Boss’nX supervision: Guest access and QR code archive, Manage topology right In Boss’nX, **Delete** removes a guest access QR code from the active list and moves it to **QR code archive**, from where you can restore it. Only the permanent deletion, started from the archives, erases it with no way back. Intended for administrators and installers with the **Manage topology** right in the QR code’s supervision. Check the label and the people concerned before removing an access. ## Archive a code 1. Open **Menu → Guest access** and find the code in [the QR list](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-qr-manage/). 2. On its row, click **Delete**. 3. In **Delete QR code**, check the label. The message states that the code will be moved to the archive and can be restored. 4. Click **Confirm** to request the archiving, or **Cancel** to keep the code. Use this central list. If another window announces an irreversible deletion without mentioning the archive, cancel and go back to **Menu → Guest access** to follow this path. ## Restore an archived code 1. In **Guest access**, open **QR code archive**. 2. Locate the **Label**, **Assignment** and **Deletion** columns. The date and the author of the deletion appear when they are available. 3. On the code you want, click **Restore**. The request is sent immediately, without a second confirmation. 4. Wait for it to be removed from the archive list, then use **Back** to return to **Guest access**. In the archives, the **Active** badge in the **Assignment** column describes the code’s assignment, not a usable access. **Target not found** requires you to check the available components. Restoring a code does not recreate a deleted zone or piece of equipment. Before reusing old printed copies or relying on guest sessions already open, have support confirm your installation’s behavior: a restoration does not necessarily revalidate all the old sessions or printouts. ## Permanently delete a code 1. In the archives, click **Delete permanently** for the right code. 2. Read the name and the warning **This action cannot be undone.**. 3. Click **Delete permanently** in the confirmation to continue, or **Cancel** to keep the archive. No button restores a permanently deleted code. For a new access need, [create a new code](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-qr-create/). ## Check the result - Archiving: after the list refreshes, open **QR code archive** and find the label. The mere closing of the confirmation is not enough to check it. - Restoring: find the code in **Guest access**, check its state, its components and its restrictions with [the QR configuration](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-qr-configure/), then open **View QR** to find the offered access again. - Permanent deletion: after refreshing, check that the row has disappeared from the archives. ## Troubleshooting - **No archived QR codes.** is shown together with a loading error: the archives may not be empty, reopen the page. - The code does not disappear, does not reappear after restoration or displays an error: reopen both lists to check its state. If the problem persists, contact support@can-nx.com, specifying the supervision, the label, the action, the message and the checks already made. Do not send the QR code, the guest link or any secret. French labels: **Archive des QR codes**, **Supprimer le QR code**, **Confirmer**, **Restaurer**, **Supprimer définitivement**, **Affectation**, **Suppression**, **Retour**.
