--- title: "KNX gateways in Boss’nX: status, bus voltage and bus load" description: Check in Boss’nX whether your Kloud’nX KNX gateways are online or offline, with their local IP, version, KNX bus voltage and bus load. canonical: https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-knx-gateways/ language: en product: Boss’nX audience: - utilisateur - administrateur - installateur context: "Boss’nX on a computer or phone: KNX gateways page of a supervision, Alarms family of the Menu" --- # KNX gateways in Boss’nX: status, bus voltage and bus load Context: Boss’nX on a computer or phone: KNX gateways page of a supervision, Alarms family of the Menu The **KNX gateways** page of Boss’nX lists the project’s Kloud’nX gateways with their status, **Local IP** and **Bus voltage**. Their details add, among other things, the version, the last connections, the protection and the **Bus load**. It is a viewing page: it offers no button to create or configure anything. Intended for authorized users, administrators and installers in charge of monitoring a supervision. To prepare the addresses and structure of an ETS file and choose the master gateway, follow [Import an ETS project](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-knx-project/) instead: the master gateway offered during this import must be checked before the components are created. ## Before you start - Your role has **View activity logs**: the **KNX gateways** page is offered in **Menu** to roles that have this permission. - The supervision of the relevant site is open. From hypervision, first enter this supervision. ## Open the gateway list 1. Choose **Menu → KNX gateways**, in the **Alarms** family. From the **Alarms** page, the **KNX gateways** tab below the header also leads there. On a tablet or phone, **Menu** is at the bottom of the screen, to the right of the bar. 2. Identify the gateway by its **Name** and its **MAC**. ## Read a gateway’s details 1. On a computer, click the row; on a phone, tap the gateway’s card. The window bearing its name opens. 2. Check **Connection**, **Local IP**, **Version**, **Last connection**, **Last seen online**, **Protection**, **Bus voltage** and **Bus load**, depending on the available values. 3. Close with the **Close** cross, the Escape key or a click outside the window. | Display | Meaning | | --- | --- | | **Online** or **Offline** chip | Gateway status in the list; **Connection** states this status in the details | | Dash **—** | No value is presented for the field, not a zero measurement | | **Protection: Enabled/Disabled** | Information for viewing only: this field is not a switch | | **Bus voltage**, **Bus load** | Values to interpret in the context of the installation; no threshold for correct operation is set here | ## Refresh the information 1. Click **Refresh** to request an update of the list. While it is open, the list also refreshes periodically. 2. To review the details again, close their window, then reopen the gateway. ## Check the result After a refresh, read the values themselves: the end of the button’s animation is not enough to confirm that more recent information has been obtained. An **Online** status concerns the gateway and does not certify that all the commands or measurements of the building work. To distinguish a gateway’s status from the results of its equipment tests, see [Network health](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-health/). ## Troubleshooting - **No KNX gateways**: check the supervision, request a refresh and have the gateway’s attachment to the project confirmed. This page does not list all gateway types: Modbus gateways are under **Menu → Modbus gateways**, see [managing Modbus gateways](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-modbus-gateway-manage/). - **KNX gateways** missing from the **Menu**: check the supervision context and the **Alarms** family, then have **View activity logs** checked on your role, according to [role capabilities](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-role-capabilities/). - **Could not load this gateway's details.**: close the window, refresh the list, then open the same gateway again. - **Offline**, missing values or information that does not change: note the gateway name, the fields concerned and the time of the observation. This page alone is not enough to conclude that there is a hardware failure. - Gateway to add or attach to the project: have the appropriate procedure confirmed by the person in charge of the installation or by support. If these checks have already been made or do not succeed, contact support@can-nx.com with Boss’nX, the supervision, the gateway name, the message or the fields observed and the attempts made.
