# Boss’nX hypervision map: find and open a supervision

Context: Boss’nX hypervision: Supervision map block of the Hypervision dashboard, on a wide screen

The **Supervision map** of the Boss’nX hypervision dashboard places each supervision, that is each site or building, on a map and as summary cards. Clicking one of them opens the supervision you want to work in.

This path is for users authorized to view the hypervision.

## Before you start

- You are in the relevant hypervision. To get there from a supervision, follow [switch between supervision and hypervision](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-hypervision-switch/).
- On a tablet or phone, the hypervision navigation is in the bottom bar, where **Hypervision dashboard** is called **Home**.

## Display the supervision map

1. In the hypervision navigation, click **Hypervision dashboard**.
2. Find the **Supervision map** block. If it is lower down in the dashboard layout, scroll the page.
3. Below the map, find the summary cards. Each one shows the name of a supervision, its location, its number of favorites and its number of active alarms.

The number of **active sites** accompanies the supervisions shown.

## Open a supervision

1. Find its name on a summary card. The name shown may be the site title.
2. If a geographic marker is present, its tooltip also identifies the supervision. Change the zoom with the map’s **+** and **−** controls, and move the map to tell nearby markers apart.
3. Click the supervision’s summary card, or its identified marker.

The supervision opens with its own navigation: its page bar, with **Dashboard**, **Building**, **Alarms**…, and the **Menu**, depending on the authorized pages. To return to the hypervision afterwards, use the hypervision chip in the header, to the right of the site name (**Back to hypervision…**), as described in [navigation between the two contexts](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-hypervision-switch/).

## View accounts or favorites

- To view accounts, the entry in the aggregated view is **Hypervision users** (**Users** in the bottom bar). In an open supervision, it is **Menu → Users**. These entries depend on account management rights: see [view users](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-users-consult/).
- To work on a component already shown in the aggregated dashboard, you can also use [the hypervision favorites](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-hypervision-favorites/), without opening its supervision from the map.

## Check the result

- After it opens, check the supervision name in the header.
- Opening a supervision does not change your role: the available accesses depend on the account and its authorizations.
- To know the state of a specific supervision, open it and look at its context. The number of **active sites** is not enough to confirm its connection.

## Troubleshooting

| Situation | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| The map background does not appear, but the summary cards are visible | Click the summary card of the supervision you want: you continue navigating without waiting for the background to display. |
| **No supervision is available yet.** appears in the map | Look for summary cards below it and, if there are any, use them to open a supervision. Otherwise, check the selected hypervision with the administrator, then reload the page. |
| **Loading failed** replaces the dashboard | Read the message, click **Retry** and wait for the result. |
| Clicking does not open the supervision | Check the context with the administrator. Do not keep changing settings to obtain access. |
