--- title: Multi-site energy consumption in the Boss’nX hypervision description: "Compare the energy consumption of several sites in the Boss’nX hypervision: global or per-meter view, period, category and data from Chart’nX dashboards." canonical: https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-hypervision-energy/ language: en product: Boss’nX audience: - utilisateur - administrateur - installateur context: "Boss’nX: hypervision dashboard, Energy consumption block fed by Chart’nX" --- # Multi-site energy consumption in the Boss’nX hypervision Context: Boss’nX: hypervision dashboard, Energy consumption block fed by Chart’nX The **Energy consumption** block of the Boss’nX hypervision dashboard compares the consumption of several supervisions using their Chart’nX dashboards: each site’s share in the global view, a site’s meters in the detailed view, by period and by category. These choices are made while viewing; they do not require entering dashboard editing. Intended for hypervision users. If you are viewing **Energy breakdown** in the dashboard of a single supervision, follow [the guide for this energy widget](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-energy/) instead. ## Before you start - You are in the relevant hypervision; see [navigating to the hypervision](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-hypervision-switch/). - The hypervision’s Chart’nX associations are configured. If the block shows **Set up the energy widget**, ask the authorized person to follow [linking Chart’nX dashboards](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-hypervision-energy-config/). ## Find the consumption figures and their context 1. Open **Hypervision dashboard**, then scroll down to **Energy consumption**. 2. In the chart, check the names of the expected supervisions, and the selected period and category. 3. Read the unit next to each number: for example, kWh and MWh do not use the same scale. A **Consolidated total** panel may appear above the charts, with a variation and a breakdown by supervision. It is a separate summary: the period and category buttons below do not recalculate it, and its period may differ from the chart’s period. If you need to know its period or scope, have them checked by the administrator. ## Choose a period and a category The period buttons apply to the block’s Chart’nX charts: | Button | Interval viewed | | --- | --- | | **Today** | From the start of the day up to the time of loading. | | **Yesterday** | The previous day. | | **Last 7 days** | Today and the previous six days, up to the time of loading. | | **Last 30 days** | Today and the previous twenty-nine days, up to the time of loading. | Day starts follow the browser’s local time: take this into account if you compare views made from different time zones. Choose **All categories** for the whole set offered, or an available category, for example Heating. If the buttons do not fit on one line, click **…** and choose in **Other categories**. **Other** may group data without a more specific category. The categories offered depend on the available data. ## Compare supervisions in the global view 1. Click **Global view**. 2. Read the chart and its **Contribution** legend, which show the supervisions for the current selection. 3. Hover over a legend row to locate its share in the chart. 4. Click a row to hide its colored share: the row becomes dimmed. Click it again to reactivate it, or use **Show all**. Hiding a share only changes the display: the numbers, percentages and total remain those of the whole selection, with no new total limited to the visible shares. The global view keeps at least one supervision visible. ## Browse a site’s meters in the detailed view 1. Click **Detailed view**. 2. Check the supervision name above the chart. 3. Go to the previous or next supervision with the left and right arrows. The indicator shows your position in the list; with a single supervision, the arrows are unavailable. 4. Browse the meter legend and their values. Scroll the block content if not all rows or the chart are visible. 5. To hide or reactivate a share, click its legend row. To see all shares again, reactivate the hidden rows one by one. Here too, hiding leaves the numbers shown unchanged. All detailed shares can be hidden: a grey ring may therefore result from this choice. To examine another category or period, use the buttons above the chart. ## Check the result - Wait for loading or **Updating…** to finish before reading the result. The display is not a guarantee of real-time measurement. - Check that all expected supervisions appear in the legend before interpreting the whole. - Before comparing or adding up values, check that their nature, unit and period are compatible. ## Troubleshooting | Situation | Action | | --- | --- | | An expected site is missing from the chart | Do not count it as zero consumption. Check the associations, the category, the period and the expected supervisions with [energy troubleshooting](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-hypervision-energy-help/). | | The chart or its legend remains inaccessible on a narrow screen | Scroll the page down to the block’s controls. If the element remains inaccessible, continue viewing on a wider screen; the authorized person can also check [the widget size](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-hypervision-layout/). | If a result remains unexplained, if loading still fails, if the display remains unusable or if the period of the **Consolidated total** remains unknown, contact support@can-nx.com. French labels: **Consommation énergétique**, **Total consolidé**, **Vue globale**, **Vue détaillée**, **Toutes les catégories**, **Autres catégories**, **Aujourd'hui**, **Hier**, **7 derniers jours**, **30 derniers jours**, **Tout réafficher**; site and meter names remain those of the installation.
