# Boss’nX energy breakdown: troubleshooting and frequently asked questions

Widget or gear not found, no linked Chart’nX dashboard, empty dashboard list, missing data, endless loading, greyed-out **Ouvrir Chart’nX**: here are the answers to common questions about the **Energy breakdown** widget on the **Dashboard** of a supervision. ## Where is the energy widget and why don’t I see a gear?

Check the Dashboard of the right supervision and scroll through the blocks: a widget may have a custom title. The orange gear **Configure the energy widget** appears in edit mode, opened with the **Edit layout** pencil, with the required rights. An authorized person can add a block in **Visible widgets → Energy → Add an energy widget**. If this type is missing, have the widgets allowed for the role checked.

## What should be chosen when the widget shows No Chart’nX dashboard configured?

An authorized person opens the widget’s gear, then selects in **Linked Chart'nX dashboard** the dashboard matching the expected project and consumption. They finish with **Finish editing** and check the choice after reopening, as described in [the energy widget configuration](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-energy-config/). If the expected dashboard is not identified, have the administrator specify it.

## Can I enter the project when the dashboard list is empty or does not load?

No: the panel does not offer a field for attaching a project. Wait for **Loading Chart'nX dashboards…** to finish, then:

- for **No Chart'nX dashboards available**, have the project associated with the supervision and the expected dashboard checked;
- for **Unable to load Chart'nX dashboards.**, finish any work you want to keep, check your connection, then reload the page once.

## Does closing the gear cancel my selection?

No. The selection remains prepared in the dashboard being edited. To keep it, click **Finish editing**. Before this save, **Restore original layout** returns the whole dashboard to the state at the start of editing. ## Why can’t I find my setting after Finish editing?

Check the supervision and reopen the dashboard once. Read the widget name and the dashboard chosen in its gear again: this review, not merely leaving edit mode, is what confirms the save. If the expected selection or layout is still not found, contact support, specifying the changes attempted and the result.

## Does No energy data available for this range mean zero?

Not necessarily: this message only indicates that no data is available for the chosen period. Check the widget and its linked dashboard, then choose the expected period among **Today**, **Yesterday**, **Last 7 Days** and **Last 30 Days**. If the expected data is still missing, have its availability checked in the relevant Chart’nX dashboard.

## What if loading does not finish or Energy data unavailable appears?

Check the connection and the expected association, finish any work you want to keep, then reload the page once. If the wait or **We couldn't retrieve the energy data. Please try again later.** persists, contact support with the supervision, the widget, the dashboard, the period and the message observed. Do not infer an equipment failure or zero consumption from it.

## Where are the categories and the global or detailed views?

The category buttons and the global or detailed views belong to the [hypervision energy widget](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-hypervision-energy/). A supervision’s widget presents the breakdown of the linked dashboard, with the periods **Today**, **Yesterday**, **Last 7 Days** and **Last 30 Days**; in the French interface, they are called **Aujourd'hui**, **Hier**, **7 derniers jours** and **30 derniers jours**. ## Why is Ouvrir Chart’nX greyed out or the analysis empty?

The chart may be viewable while opening the analysis is not available: the button is then greyed out, with the tooltip **Sélectionnez un dashboard Chart’nX pour l’ouvrir** (Select a Chart’nX dashboard to open it). Have the administrator check the linked dashboard and its access. In the analysis window, **Back** or the **Back to dashboard** arrow returns you to the dashboard. ## What if the legend is unreadable on a phone or the values seem inconsistent?

For the display, scroll the content and use a wider screen if needed. An authorized person can [enlarge the widget](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-dashboard-layout/). For a comparison, check the dashboard, the period, the browser’s local time and the units.
