--- title: Arrange the widgets on a Boss’nX supervision dashboard description: Show or hide blocks, move and resize them, then save the layout of a Boss’nX supervision dashboard with Finish editing and check that it was kept. canonical: https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-dashboard-layout/ language: en product: Boss’nX audience: - administrateur - installateur context: Boss’nX, supervision dashboard in edit mode, with the right to edit the dashboard --- # Arrange the widgets on a Boss’nX supervision dashboard Context: Boss’nX, supervision dashboard in edit mode, with the right to edit the dashboard In edit mode, the **Dashboard** of a Boss’nX supervision lets you choose the visible blocks, move and resize them, then save the layout with **Finish editing**. For the administrator or installer authorized to edit the dashboard of a supervision, opened directly or from a hypervision. To organize the aggregated dashboard itself, use [the hypervision layout](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-hypervision-layout/). ## Before you start - Your account has the right to edit the dashboard. The widget types offered depend on the authorizations of the account’s role. - Work on a wide screen. On a narrow screen, the **Edit layout** pencil stays in the header. ## Choose the visible widgets 1. Open the expected supervision, then **Dashboard**, as described in [the navigation guide](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-navigation/). 2. Wait for loading to finish and click the **Edit layout** pencil in the header. 3. In **Visible widgets**, check or uncheck the fixed blocks offered: **Overview**, **Building view**, **Alarms** and **Favorites**. 4. Check the result in the dashboard. The checkbox labels may differ from the titles visible in the blocks: for example, **Building view** corresponds to the building view block, whose title may also be customized. Unchecking a fixed block hides it in the dashboard, without deleting the components, alarms or favorites it presents. Day-to-day use of two of these blocks is described in [the favorite cards](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-dashboard-favorites/) and [the technical alarms summary](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-dashboard-alarms/). Additional widgets have their own add controls in this panel: - energy: [add and configure an energy widget](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-energy-config/); - web shortcut: [add an external link](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-dashboard-links/); - site plan or drawing: [add and configure a schema block](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-dashboard-schema-config/). The overview figures have [their statistics settings](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-overview-config/). ## Move and resize a block 1. On a computer, hold the mouse button down on the block’s **nine-dot handle at the top right**, whose tooltip is **Move**. 2. Drag to the position you want and release. Check the neighboring blocks, which may be repositioned. 3. To change the size, drag the **small grey corner at the bottom right of the block**, then release. 4. Check that the controls, values and legends remain readable. A minimum size limits shrinking; scroll the block content when needed. The layout adapts to the screen width: positions and dimensions may differ between computer and mobile. Check them on the screen sizes you use. ## Undo the changes of the current editing session In **Visible widgets**, **Restore original layout** returns the dashboard to the state at the start of this editing session. This covers the positions, the visible blocks and their prepared settings, in particular the associations and titles of energy widgets. This action can discard several changes at once. - After a save and a new entry into editing, restoration returns to this newly saved state. It does not bring back the installation’s original settings. - Uploading or deleting [the overview image](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-overview-image/) takes effect immediately and is not undone by this restoration. ## Save the layout 1. Review the visible blocks, their layout and their settings. 2. Click **Finish editing**, the blue floppy-disk button that replaces the pencil in the header, to save the changes. 3. Wait for the result before changing page or closing the browser. ## Check the result Reopen **Dashboard** and check the expected positions, sizes and choices. To read an association or a setting again, enter editing again: the panel shows **All changes saved** when no change is pending. Rely on this review rather than on the disappearance of the handles alone. ## Troubleshooting - **Edit layout** is missing: check that you are on the **Dashboard** of the right supervision, then have the administrator check the right to edit the dashboard. This pencil appears in the header at every screen width. - A widget type is missing: have the types allowed for the role and the blocks currently configured checked. See [the role’s capabilities and widgets](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-role-capabilities/). - The initial settings do not load: wait for the result. If editing indicates that default settings are shown after a failure, reload the page before editing the dashboard. - After **Finish editing**, the expected changes are missing: check the selected hypervision or supervision and reopen the dashboard once. If the state remains uncertain, contact support before making more changes. ## Contact support Write to support@can-nx.com if the editing controls remain unavailable with the expected right, if loading still fails or if saving remains uncertain. Give the building, the blocks concerned, the change attempted, the result after reopening, any message and the approximate screen size. A screenshot without sensitive data can help.
