--- title: Run a Link’nX scenario or action from a Boss’nX component description: "Start a Link’nX scenario or action linked to a datapoint from the Boss’nX supervision: Run button, confirmation, what Sent means and error messages." canonical: https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-command-linknx/ language: en product: Boss’nX audience: - utilisateur - administrateur - installateur context: "Boss’nX, component detail in a supervision or hypervision: datapoint already linked to a Link’nX target" --- # Run a Link’nX scenario or action from a Boss’nX component Context: Boss’nX, component detail in a supervision or hypervision: datapoint already linked to a Link’nX target A Boss’nX datapoint linked to a Link’nX scenario or action shows a **Run** button: one click, confirmed if the datapoint requires it, sends the command to the gateway that holds this target. This datapoint is a trigger; it returns no status feedback. For users, administrators and installers authorized to control the datapoint, in a standalone supervision or one opened from the hypervision. To create or correct the link, see [link a datapoint to a Linknx action or scenario](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-point-linknx/). ## Before you start - The datapoint is already linked to the expected action or scenario. If the association is unclear, have the administrator check it before running. - Your account is authorized to control this component. ## Find the datapoint 1. Open the zone from **Building**, **By floor** tab, then locate the component. 2. Expand its card or open [its detail](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-component/) to find the associated datapoint. 3. Check its label. The datapoint shows a **Run** button, accompanied by a triangle. ## Run the action or scenario 1. Click **Run** once. 2. If **Confirm the command** appears, read **Run « … »?** and check the name displayed. 3. Click **Send** to confirm, or **Cancel** to abandon before sending. The datapoint uses its already configured association: when you click, you do not choose another action, scenario or gateway. Once the request is sent, **Cancel** can no longer reverse the effects of the action or scenario. ## Check the result During the request, an indicator spins in the button and running again is disabled. When the request succeeds, **Sent** appears briefly with a check mark. **Sent** means that the interface accepted the sending: this datapoint provides neither scenario execution feedback nor a physical result. Check the relevant states in the installation when this check is available. Do not run it repeatedly in search of an uncertain result. ## Troubleshooting | Display | Check | | --- | --- | | **Controls locked**, as the tooltip of an inactive **Run** button | Check the access context and have your permissions checked. | | **You are not allowed to run this point.** | Have your profile and your scope for this component checked. | | **« … » was not found — deleted from the gateway?** | Have the datapoint’s association with the expected action or scenario checked before concluding that it was deleted. | | **Could not run — the command was not sent.** | Check your session and note the context of the failure. | For other symptoms, see [command troubleshooting](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-command-help/).
