--- title: "Boss’nX command not working: troubleshooting and FAQ" description: "Missing command, value that reverts, Action non confirmée, dash or N/A, read-only access: causes and checks when a Boss’nX command does not work." canonical: https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-command-help/ language: en product: Boss’nX audience: - utilisateur - administrateur - installateur context: "Boss’nX, component detail in a supervision or hypervision: numeric values, buttons, pulses, Link’nX datapoints" --- # Boss’nX command not working: troubleshooting and FAQ Context: Boss’nX, component detail in a supervision or hypervision: numeric values, buttons, pulses, Link’nX datapoints Missing command, value that reverts, **Action non confirmée. Veuillez réessayer.**, dash or **N/A** on screen, permission or context message: the causes and the checks to run when a Boss’nX command does not give the expected result. For users, administrators and installers of a supervision; first note the component, the datapoint, the value or action requested and the feedback observed. ## How do I know whether a command actually worked? Rely on the datapoint’s status feedback or on the relevant measurement in the installation. The other indications concern the sending of the request, not its effect on the equipment: requested value shown immediately, **Action envoyée avec succès** (action sent successfully), **Sent** on a Link’nX datapoint, end of a pulse’s waiting indicator, absence of an error message. Do not repeat a command whose effects you cannot check. ## Why is the command not available? A visible value may be view-only: the control permission is separate from the viewing permission. 1. Check that you have opened the right component in the right supervision. 2. Expand its card or open [its detail](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-component/) to view the remaining datapoints. 3. If a greyed-out row indicates a KNX object awaiting installation, have its commissioning checked. 4. If the row shows a simple state or **Write-only**, have the administrator check your control permission and the datapoint’s restrictions: the role’s **Send commands** capability ([role capabilities](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-role-capabilities/)) and [datapoint rules by tag](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-role-datapoint-tags/). If the expected command is still missing after checking with the administrator, contact support. ## Why does nothing happen after I change a number? A value is sent only after the entry is validated or the slider is released, then confirmed if the datapoint requires it. - For [a numeric entry](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-command-numeric/), **Enter** or leaving the field validates the entry; **Esc** discards it before validation. - For a slider, release it after choosing the value. - If **Confirmer la commande** (confirm the command) appears, the request is waiting for **Envoyer** (send). **Annuler** (cancel) closes the window without sending this command, but the proposed value may remain displayed: leave the detail, then reopen the component to check the current display. If the request was sent but the feedback remains different, note both values for support. ## Why does the value change immediately, then revert? The screen may show the requested value before the datapoint’s status feedback. 1. Check the requested value, the unit and the datapoint concerned. 2. Wait for the datapoint’s feedback. 3. If it returns to another value or remains unchanged, note the result and any message displayed. If the result remains unexplained, pass these details on to support. ## What does “Action non confirmée. Veuillez réessayer.” mean? This message, meaning “action not confirmed, please try again”, indicates that the request did not get the confirmation expected by the interface. The equipment may have reacted anyway: the message does not mean that nothing happened. Check your session and the status feedback before making any new request. If the result remains uncertain, note the command, the time of the attempt and the feedback observed for support. ## Why does “Action envoyée avec succès” appear with no visible effect? This message concerns the sending. Check the relevant status feedback, especially for a datapoint without status feedback or for a pulse. - For [a pulse](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-command-buttons/), look at the status dot and text when they are present. - For [a Link’nX datapoint](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-command-linknx/), **Sent** indicates the sending, without execution feedback. If you cannot establish the result, contact support instead of clicking repeatedly. ## What do “—” in a selector and “N/A” in a state mean? **—** in an options list may correspond to the absence of identified status feedback for this control. **N/A** means that no usable value is available for the display. Neither indication is a zero measurement. Check that it is the right datapoint and have its configuration checked if the display is not the expected one. ## What should I do after a permission or context message? - **Accès invité en lecture seule** (read-only guest access): in a guest session, have the permissions of the context used checked. With a regular account, this message indicates that your role does not have the **Send commands** capability: have the administrator check it, and mention it to support if the message persists. - **Erreur: impossible d'envoyer la commande (bossnxId manquant)** (error: the command cannot be sent, bossnxId missing): the command cannot be sent because the context is missing. Leave the procedure, then reopen the supervision with the link provided for the building. If the message reappears, contact support without changing an address or an identifier at random. - Guest session opened with a QR code: follow [guest session recovery](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-qr-guest-use/). Session with a regular account: follow [Boss’nX reconnection](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-session/). Then check the component’s state before deciding on a new command. ## Contact support If the problem persists after these checks, write to support@can-nx.com, indicating the product, the supervision, the component, the datapoint, the requested result, the exact message, the time of the attempt, the feedback observed and the attempts already made.
