--- title: Find a floor or zone in the Boss’nX building topology description: Open the By floor tab of the Building page in Boss’nX, jump to a building part and then a floor, open a zone card and understand the groupings shown. canonical: https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-building/ language: en product: Boss’nX audience: - utilisateur - administrateur - installateur context: "Boss’nX, building supervision: Building page, By floor tab, on computer or mobile" --- # Find a floor or zone in the Boss’nX building topology Context: Boss’nX, building supervision: Building page, By floor tab, on computer or mobile The **By floor** tab of the **Building** page shows the floors of a Boss’nX supervision, grouped by building part, with one card per zone. There you jump to a building part, then a floor, and open a zone’s page, on a computer as on mobile. Intended for users, administrators and installers signed in to a supervision, opened directly or from the hypervision, within the account’s authorized scope. To narrow the display to certain names, floors or types, [use the topology filters](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-building-filter/). ## Open the topology 1. Choose **Building** in the header bar, or open **Menu → Building**. On a tablet and on a phone, this bar moves to the bottom of the screen, followed by **Menu**. See [the navigation landmarks](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-navigation/). 2. Select the **By floor** tab, next to **By function**. The **Building** entry may reopen the last tab used in this context: so explicitly select **By floor**. 3. Check the **Building · by floor** title. The page groups the floors and their cards by building part. ## Reach a floor On a wide screen, the **Explore the building** panel, on the left, lists the parts and their **Floors**: 1. Click the name of the part to reach its section. 2. Click the name of a floor of this part: the page scrolls to that floor. 3. Locate the floor title and the cards below it. The section or floor reached is briefly highlighted. On a narrower screen, the **Building parts** block shows buttons above the sections. Tap the part you want, then scroll through its floors. These buttons move the view within the current supervision, without changing the account or the supervision. The numbers of floors, zones and components shown in these landmarks concern the content retained by the view. They may decrease when filters are applied. ## Open a zone 1. Under the right floor, locate the card bearing the zone name. 2. Click its name or the card: the zone’s page opens. 3. If a small history icon is present at the top right of the card, it opens the history. To open the zone itself, select its name. Names may be visually shortened; on a computer, hover over the zone name to read its full text. Each card shows the values and indicators configured for its zone: not all zones display the same information. From a zone, then see [its components](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-zone/), [its card values](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-zone-display/) or [zone and floor histories](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-zone-history/). ## Understand the groupings - **Zones directes** (direct zones, shown in French): a zone attached directly to a building part, without a floor, may appear in this grouping, under the name of the part. - **No assigned building part**: this grouping gathers floors to which no part is assigned. - A zone with no component retained by the view does not appear in the topology. - Components attached directly to a floor may appear next to the zone cards. If you see **Unmapped building parts** or **Unknown building part**, note the displayed name and have the site administrator check the attachment, in [the building organization](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-organization/). Do not assign an attachment at random to make this label disappear. ## Troubleshooting If a floor or zone is missing: 1. Check that you are in the right supervision and in the **By floor** tab. 2. Open **Show filters**, then click **Reset** in this panel. 3. Look for the part and the floor again. If the item reappears, it was hidden by the display selection. 4. If it is still missing, have your administrator check your access scope and the item’s attachment. An empty view does not mean that the item has been deleted. For a difficulty on a zone’s own page, follow [troubleshooting zone viewing](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-zone-help/). ## Contact support If the expected structure still cannot be found after these checks, write to support@can-nx.com with the building, the item you are looking for and the result obtained. French labels: **Bâtiment**, **Par étage**, **Par fonction**, **Bâtiment · par étage**, **Explorer le bâtiment**, **Étages**, **Parties de bâtiment**.
